Directions: You work for a newspaper and you write the Advice Column! Santiago has written
you the following messageI am an aging fisherman and have sailed very far out all by myself. After years of trying
to catch the perfect fish, I finally have a gigantic marlin on my line! The marlin is so
strong and has been pulling my boat for days. I cannot pull him in because the line might
break, but I am getting too tired to hang onto the fishing line and I am afraid that I will
start to lose my sanity without sleep or more food. What should I do? How could I catch
the marlin? Or should I just give up? Please help me!
Try to answer all of Santiagos questions, and you MUST explain why you are giving him that
advice. Its fine to tell him to let the marlin go, but you need to give him reasons for deciding to
do that. Or, if you think of a creative way for him to catch the marlin, explain why it would work.
Miss S (and Santiago) cant wait to hear what advice you choose to give him!
