1 would like to present this resume to you for your consideration as a potential teacher at your
school, I am highly interested in a teaching position in first through third grade in an English language
development classroom, I would be honored to be considered for any position that would be available to
me,
This May I will graduate from Arizona State University with my certification in Elementary
Education as well as an endorsement in English as a second language. In April [ will complete my full
year of student teaching first grade at Valley View School in Phoenix, Arizona, I have been teaching the
entire day of instruetion since early March, Asa student teacher in a Title I school I had the opportunity
to work with stuclents from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and socioeconomic statuses. I leamied to
differentiate my instruction to meet the needs of my ELL students, students whose first language was
not English, and students who are above grade level. In my student teaching experience { worked with a
small group improve their sight word knowledge and over 100% growth, This improvement has led me
to focus on sight words as a whole class in order to improve all students’ reading fluency. So far, I have
seen a 38% growth as a whole class and plan to continue working for greater improvement.
My passion is to work with students from lower income areas because I feel that they need great
teachers, teachers who care about them and helieve in them. I have spent my educational experience
striving to be a teacher and I could not envision myself in any other career, Working with students to
foster their creativity and strive for more than what they believe they can accomplish are what I plan to
bring into the classroom, I am eager to work with young minds es well as lear fiom my colleagues and
become the best teacher I can be.
