Significances of Munich
Munich

is located in the state of Bavaria. The


state was typically known for his traditional
atmosphere. It was a very conservative state.

With

the creation of the Republic and the several


Putsches taking place the state of Bavaria lost
faith in the Republic.

The

occupation of the Ruhr was the final straw


with the state of Bavaria declared its own state of
EMERGENCY. (demanding the Reichswehr soldiers
to swear an oath to Bavaria NOT the Republic.

was ruled by 3 men, the Prime


Minsiter Gus tav von Kahr, the Commander
of the army in Bavaria General von Lossow
and the chief of the Police Han von Seisser.

Yet

there was another sphere of control,


the Kampfbund (fighting league) made
up of the right wing military groups.

The Putsch Failed?


Once

Hitler took control of the other right


wing officers at Burger Brau Keller (Beerhall),
they all agreed to march on to Munich.
The following day Hitler marched with
General Ludendorf.
Despite Von Kahr stating he was with Hitler,
decided not to back him, with a chain
reaction Von Lossow also withdrew.
Hitler marched on and was arrested for
Treason.

The Putsch Failed?


Hitler

in his trial promoted his party


and its views.
Speaking his ideals he became a
national figure.
For

Hitler he also learnt valuable


lesson.
To achieve power he must do it
legally.
