As chair of the department I was honored to have such a dedicated and knowledgeable teacher in my substitute pool, and as a frequent observer and essay reader. Jonathan has a work ethic that goes way beyond the common. He continually worked on developing student relationships as weil as spending many hours developing and perfecting his teaching skills. I have been impressed by Jonathan’s passion for our field, and his untiring energy in working to develop meaningful discussions with our students, He continually challenges the process to reach the heart of our students, always being willing to modify initial plans to respond to the students’ needs. My regret is that because of the current budget situation, I cannot offer him a position for the next schoo! year. I believe he would become a valued member of any secondary English department.
