Question Paper Pattern for MBA session 2015-16
The following structure is for all semesters of MBA program. The question
Paper should consist of three types of questions, short answer, medium
answer and case study / long answer. All types of questions should cover
complete syllabus. Therefore, question paper would be divided into three
sections: section A, B & C.
Section A (2 x 10 = 20)
This section will have 10 very short questions without any internal choice. All
questions are mandatory. The limit of the answer will be maximum 30 words
with approximately 3 minutes each. The questions will comprise from all the
units of the subject. Suggestively, 2 questions from each unit, if subject
have 5 units. The level of the complexities of such questions would be as (1)
5 questions shall be conceptual (memory based) and 5 questions shall be
application based. Each question would carry 2 marks.
Section B (10x5= 50)
This section will have 8 questions of 10 marks each. Candidate needs to
attempt any 5 questions. There will be NO internal choice in a question. A
question may have multiple parts with defined marking keys. The question
may be kept for 250 words of about 15 minutes each.
The degree of complexity of the questions shall be as under
a. 3 question shall be on memory or conceptual based ( Low complexity)
b. 5 questions shall be application & evaluation based. ( 3 shall be of
middle complexity and 2 shall be of higher complexity)
(In case of mathematical based subjects, 2 questions shall be memory based
and rest 6 shall be application/evaluation/ numerical basec)
Section C (10x3= 30)
1. This section will have a case study of 30 marks. A case study should
have at least 3 questions of 10 marks each. However, question may
have multiple parts with defined keys. The case study may be kept
which should require 15-20 minutes to read and understand. The
question may be kept app 150 words of 15 minutes cach,
2. In case of numerical based paper this section should have 3 questions of
15 marks each. The candidate should attempt any two questions of 15
marks each. All the three questions should be numerical based.
