CROSS-CULTURAL EXPERIENCE
Study abroad in Jerusalem (Spring 2010)
Lived in Israel for ten weeks, traveled to domestic destinations throughout the country, made multiple
trips to the West Bank, spent one week in Cairo, and took two shorter trips to Jordan. Played basketball
with a pick-up basketball team comprised of Palestinians and Israelis, observed peaceful protests in the
Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in Jerusalem, toured the Palestinian city of Hebron with the civilian
observer mission Temporary International Presence in Hebron.
‘The Teaching Assistant Program in France (10/11-05/12)
Lived in the northeast of France for the majority of the school year, took week-long trips to Amsterdam,
Lyon, Paris, Prague, and Sofia during interim periods. Made smaller trips to Luxembourg and
Saarbrucken, Germany. Was involved in the couch surfing social community, and took voice lessons with
my colleagues at the secondary school.
Intercultural Communication Course (Fall 2015)
Studied concepts in cross-cultural communication, wrote about the importance of intercultural
