0 Gaze - The choice the illustrator or writer makes

about whether or not the reader can see the face of a


person in an image influences the personal contact
with the image.
0 Types of Gaze
0 Contact the reader can look directly into the eyes of

the character. The reader can make contact with the


character.
0 Observer the character is looking at another character
or object and the reader is observing what is happening.
The reader is either looking alongside the character at
what they are looking at or they looking as the character.

TASK: Draw an example of an image that shows


contact gaze and observer gaze in your booklet.
