Video Guides
The following video guides are intended as Table of Contents for the Videos we make
and sell. The first three tapes are called Jyotish Basics 1, 2, and 3, then theres two on
our software program .
These lists are chronological listings of the topics covered. The times listed down the
left side are the hours and minutes of tape time, at which you will find the listed
subjects. If when you start the tape, you make sure your video counter is on the tape
time mode, usually shown like 00:00:00 then you can watch the minutes go by, and fast
forward to a desired topic if you like.

Chart Styles
The two main chart display styles are North Indian and South Indian shown here with North on
the left. With Northern, the Houses are always in the same places as shown. With Southern, the
Signs are always in the same places as shown. Note the Slash is the Sign of Cancer . This is
how the ascendent or rising sign is usually indicated on Southern Charts. That is then House 1,
and you count from there Clockwise for the rest of the houses. On the Northern chart (left) you
can see that you count the houses counter clockwise. On northern, the signs move. On Southern,
the Houses move. Northern is preferrable overall because it emphasizes houses over signs.
