To Wham I¥ May Concern
Es with distinct pleasure that I weite this letter of recommendation for Hailie Wadley, who was/is a student in
my Foundations in Personal Finance class during the Winter and Spring of 2015-16 Haile 1s truly an outstanding
math student and one of the mast dedicated and hard-working students have taught in my 30+ years of teaching
In the classrogm, Hailie has shown herself to be an enthusiastic and positive young woman with not only impressive
academic ability, but also with an unquestionable drive and determination In Senior Math, students ore
encoureged to examine their spending and saving habits as well as their financial goals, 10 reflect on them, and to
moke necessary modifications in order to achieve their goals. Hailie has taken that challenge seriously and is,
putting forth every ef fort to apply those financial foundations in her life as evidenced by her participation in
classroom discussions. her part-time job at Wendy's in South Haven, and her pursuit of scholarships to help of fset
the cost of schoo! and to provide her with the ability to avoid going into debt. She has already applied for and
been chosen as a recipient of the Multicultural Leader Scholarship through Western Michigan University. She is
foequently one of the first students to volunteer with an answer in class and her attitude helps to set a positive
tone for the classroom She has been on the A/B Honor Roll throughout her high school career. She is an
optimistic young women who gets along well with others. Her constant smile and her willingness to work hard have
been a much eppreciated addition to my classroom,
Outside the classroom, she also exhibits a drive and passion that will make her successful in life, She has been
involved in Winter Guard for five years (as well as Color Guard for four), Her participation included the position of
ceptoin of her team for two years. She was also an assistant coach of a team in Indiana. Hailie is involved in the
Locota United Methodist Church. She lives with her mother who is single and on disability, so she works part-time
te supplement her mother's income. She 15 currently in the Cadet Teacher program through the Technology Center
in Lowrence and she teaches at the Bert Goen's Learning Center, where she works with autistic students from age
10-20. She has o cousin who is autistic. Her love for him sparked a sincere and passionate interest in the field of
study she has chosen in occupational therapy. She job shadowed an occupational therapist at Bangor Elementary to
confirm that «tis indeed the career path she wants to pursue. Inher words, “I like helping people live their lives
‘easier’ Clearly, she is a well-rounded person, excelling not only in academics, but also in extracurricular activities
cond in service to others.
I wholeheartedly recommend Hailie Wadley for the South Haven Health System Auxiliary Scholarship, I can think
of no one who deserves it more. If I can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me,
