Final Reflection
Looking back to the initial goals from the beginning of the course, I believe I was able to
achieve about two third of my goals. My time managements had definitely improved a lot
because of the 168 Hour Assignment. I was able to use to planned schedule and follow it to make
sure I turn in my assignment on time. My first learning goal was to improve more in my writing.
I think I have accomplished this goal because I have to write a lot during these past 8 weeks for
this online course. My second goal was to stay positive and motivated. I think I did really well on
this goal because I did not feel like I would fail any classes this semester. I push myself extra
hard this semester to maintain a good GPA because I want to transfer to my dream school, UCB
and other UCs. My third goal was to start meeting new people and get more involved in school. I
was not able to reach this goal due to my shyness. I try really hard making new friends in class,
but I am just not ready. Lastly, I was able to take all the classes I needed in time so I could start
on my transferring application. I went to my friends and counselor to seek for advice involving
transferring and I learned a lot from them. I was able to set out a plan of classes I need to take to
transfer which I think Ive done a pretty good job on.
At the beginning of the course I was a little worried because this is my first time taking
an online class. I was worried that I would fail the class because Sociology is very new to me.
However, I was able to overcome my fear, I did really well in class and I was able to learn so
much new materials. My reading comprehension definitely has improved as well; it allowed me

to better understand key facts and work through project in a smooth manner. Sometimes, I had to
re-read the material, by doing so I will have a better understand on whats the material is about. I
also realized that I had improved a lot on analyzing what Ive read. One of my favorite project
throughout the course is the Video/DVD Analysis. I learned so much from it, especially to reflect
on what Ive watched on writing.
Through this course, I learn how social interactions are formed. I get to learn so much
new terms that Ive never seen before and use it while doing my assignment. I get to learn
different perspectives in sociology and different paradigms. Overall, I learn that sociology can be
found everywhere in our everyday life.
