Dear Senior Exploration Judges:
Good Evening, my name is Trenton Elvis. Throughout my four years of high school, I have had
many experiences, both good and bad. I have gone to Saint James throughout my entire school
career. Throughout my school experience I have met many new people and made many
memories. My plans after I graduate high school is to go to Horry Georgetown Tech. I plan to go
there for an associates in arts and then transfer to a four year college to major in basic business
management.
When I first started my senior exploration, I was thinking about researching something with cars.
Then I realized after searching through the topics that I was going to do the BP Oil Spill. The
reason why I chose the BP Oil Spill is because I have a passion for our oceans and protecting
them. I learned a lot during the research phase of my senior exploration, I learned that because of
the BP Oil Spill, a few animals almost went extinct and there were many others that were left
devastated with diseases that have hurt the generations of animals after them.
The process of Senior Exploration was not that difficult at first, the only real problem I had was
finding somewhere that I could do my service hours. I tried to call Ripleys Aquarium but they
said that they could only allow four hours of job shadowing. Then I tried to contact The Surfrider
Foundation, and all the days that they were having events, were the same days that I had to work.
The last place I contacted was Murrells Inlet 2020, and this is who I did my service hours with.
I want to thank all of you for participating in the Senior Exploration. I appreciate you taking the
time to read this letter and listening to the presentation of my Senior Exploration project.
