Performing a Human Task Analysis

Overview
Human Task Simulation is a tool you can use to create, validate, and simulate
activities for workers using the DPM planning and simulation infrastructure. The
activities that you can simulate are as follows:

Copyright DASSAULT SYSTEMES 2002

Walking
Moving to a Posture
Picking
Placing
Climbing

These activities can be combined with DPM Assembly activities to analyze the
relationship between workers and other entities within the simulation. Doing so
allows you to test multiple alternatives for the work that actual humans must
accomplish in a specific manufacturing environment.

Switch to DPM for assembly and create a Move activity

Create a move activity to extract the air filter.

Switch to Human task simulation and restore initial position

Reach the air filter (Left hand) and create a constraint the air filter.
Create a Move To Posture

Once the hand is on the air filter, we will perform an autograsp.

Note: Keep the reach function activated for further flexibility

Activated the standard pose function and select the hand grasp tab.

Select the spherical type and the left hand.

Select the air Filter and launch the auto grasp

If you are not satisfied with the final result, use the compass to
readjust the hand position and launch the auto grasp again.

10

You can click on the type of grasp to reset the posture prior to auto grasp again or
simply re-grasp from the current position

15

At any shots of the move activity, you can see the resulting posture of the manikin.
For the first operates, select the last shots where you can see the manikin can still
reach the part

16

Then change the posture of the manikin, change the IK behavior, or

even reach the part with the other hand to allow the manikin to follow the entire Move activity
of the air filter. Will perform this last scenarion ( Switch hand)

17

Delete or deactivate the constraint for the left hand, Right the air filter with the right hand

18

Select the operates standing function and select the previous operates

Once the operates are created you can explore the following scenario
without any change of the human activity:

Modify the move activity (better to maintain the same number of shot
Reverse the move activity
Change the anthropometry of the manikin
Change the IK behavior of the manikin as well as its range of motion

Clearance + Contact + Clash this checks whether two objects occupy the same space, or whether
they occupy the same clearance zone around each other.
Authorized Penetration this checks whether one objects penetrates another beyond a specified
amount.
Between all components this checks for clash or penetrations between all objects per
specifications set in the Type drop-down field.
Inside one selection this checks for clash or penetrations occurring to a selected object
per specifications set in the Type drop-down field.
