While I was beginning my search of what type of internship I would be interested in last semester I
choose your organization and through working with clients and employees I have decide that I would
like to pursue a position in your organization. I am very interested in The Nurturing program and
continuing the support group for parents that I started. Your organization stands out to me because I
feel that I can make a difference in families lives and I already have invested myself working within this
community that surrounds The Tree House.
My passion is to work with children and families and to help them utilize their skills they have in order to
succeed in life. I can do this as a Parent Home Educator. The goal of these families is reunification and
I believe that I can motivate parents and help them be the best parent they can be in visitations, so the
documentation will show in the supervised visits whether or not they are capable of having their kids
back. I will impact childrens lives by assisting DFACS to establish the best outcome for them.
I will graduate this month with a Bachelors in Human Development and Family Science. If I am placed
in your organization for a position; I can take the experience I learned from my internship and continue
to apply it. When working with you I can put my two passions together my experience I have with kids
and my knowledge of human development.
As you can see from my resume, my service learning work with middle age and adolescent kids have
given me valuable experience in both patience and responsibility along with many other skills. I have
also taken many related courses, which gives me a developmental approach to helping all ages across
the lifespan. These courses include Parental and Child Guidance, Adolescent and Young Adult Survey,
and even Family Systems Theory. My self-motivation and responsibility, along with my ability to work
well with others, make me a good candidate for this position.
