In this experiment, Measurement on Four Wire Lines, the influence of phase setti

ng on the display of the lock-in amplifier were observed and analyzed and the in
serion loss feed in the module was determined. Star Quad Cable, Function Generat
or and Lock-in Amplifier were used.
In the first part, the insertion loss in the feed-in module as a function was de
termined. The input in the lock-in amplifier is 10 Vpp. It can be seen that the
insertion loss in the frequencies that was observed (1 kHz to 20 kHz), it is mo
stly close 20 dB. The loss of signal power changes are ranging from 2.5 dB to 7.
5 dB. According to the data, the crosstalk is unintelligible in the given freque
ncy (1 kHz to 20 kHz) because it has low insertion loss.
In the second part, the the phase angle of the signal that was fed was shifted.
The shifted angle varies, ranging from 0 degree to 90 degrees. The reference of
amplitude is at 0 dB. As the value of shifted phase angle increases, the attenua
tion increases.
--------------------Cross talk is the disturbance of signal in other communication channel that was
created in the communications channel. In this experiment, Measurement of Four W
ire Lines, it can be concluded that the variation of signal input affects the in
sertion loss. The input signal was 0 kHz to 20 kHz, as the frequency value goes
lower, the insertion loss goes higher but it is still small and insignificant, t
herefore we can say that at low frequencies, there is insertion loss but it is m
inimal. The insertion loss or the loss of signal power is unintelligible at low
frequency.
In the second procedure of the experiment, we can conclude that varying or shift
ing the phase angle of the fed signal affects the communication. As the phase an
gle of the as the fed signal goes out of phase, the loss increases.
