In addition, it will introduce you to a valuable resource you may be able to use in your teaching. You will be using the New York Times’ Mapping America Website (hitp://projects nytimes.com/census/2010/explorer) to the Mapping A ite (above). In the box next to the Go button, type Los Angeles and click to the Ge button This will take you to a map of the greater Los Angeles area showing racial and ethnic distributions of Los Angeles. Find your home area by entering your zip code (again in the box to the left of the Go Button), Next, find the specific census tract where you live.
