Sculpting (1821-1898)
The second half of the 19th
century was the most
fascinating periods in that era.
Victorians arts vibrant colors
represented Englands high
society which was shaped with
the art of Sculpting. Sculpting
inspired many people because
they felt that it was a way of
expressing Englands fine
talents and the Sculptors
thought that it was high-classy
at the time and to many people,
it was. Victorian art was
produced by a series of artists
who mainly focused on the
popularity and modern
elegance. Many sculptors at the
time had attended many classes
or academys which were called
schools and that included
Norwich School, Nazarene
Movement, The ancients
academy of Art, Purismo, etc.
Those were only the few of
many Academys that famous
Sculptors attended.

many jobs that were dealing

with domestic duties which
were increasingly carried out
by servants. The two sexes
had came to a place in there
era where seeing each other
for just breakfast and dinner
was a gift and should not be
taken for granted. Women
were educated separately
from men because they
thought that if men were
learning womens duties,
then there wouldnt be a
purpose for the whole
gender role issue. Marriage
was strict and sexuality and
activity was also a gift and
was like a very special
occurrence because its not
like they could perform the
acts every day.

Gender Roles (Social

Issues)
During the Victorian
Period , men and womens roles
became more sharply defined

Queen Victoria first met her

German cousin, Prince Albert
of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha,
in 1836, and Queen Victoria
and Prince Albert became
engaged during his second
visit to England in 1839. This
was the first wedding of a
reigning Queen in England
since 1554. Queen Victoria

loved each other till Prince

Albert died of old age. Queen
Victorias journals were
copied and edited, after her
death, by Princess Beatrice,
and the originals were
destroyed. Queen Victoria
and Prince made love to each
other every night. Prince
Albert was Victorias only
husband or boyfriend she had
ever had. Their love was
shared for nearly 27 years.

Crimean War
The Crimean wars
were very big during the
Victorian Era. England
entered the war between
Russia and Turkey on the side
of the Turks because Russia
was seeking to control the
Dardanelles and to threaten
England's Mediterranean sea
routes. The country might not
have gone to war had it not
been so popular, patriotism
being inflamed by such works
the Westward Ho. The
Ottoman Empire declared war
on Russia in October 1853
and had suffered a major
defeat that gave Russia
control of the Black Sea. The

naval base at Sevastopol, on the
Crimean peninsula, was what
was key in Russias early
warfare. The Russian threat to
the Ottoman Empire required
control of the Black Sea, and the
key was the Russian naval base
at Sevastopol, on the Crimean
peninsula. The allies realized
that, if they captured
Sevastopol, they would control
the Black Sea and win the war ,

strategy. France and Britain

ended off the Crimean War.
