To Whom It May Concern: This is my sixth year teaching and my second year at Cholla High Magnet School. Prior to this I worked outside of the teaching profession as a business executive. I have been a colleague of Ms. Buchin for the 2015-2016 school year and have had the opportunity to work directly with her during Professional Learning Community (PLC) meeting during this time. PLC meeting run 50 minutes, three times per week. Ms. Buchin has been directly involved in our PLC meetings this term. The purpose of the PLC meetings is to create cohesion in the teaching and teaching strategies within the science department. Her role during these meetings includes monitoring what the other three members of the PLC group are discussing as well as providing input on her progress and teaching experiences. Ms. Buchin listens well, takes notes, considers what is being said, asks relevant questions and provides useful input. Outside of the PLC meeting we have had occasion to converse about teaching theories, strategies, and teaching in general. I have not had the opportunity to observe Ms. Buchin teach, however I do have occasion to pass the classroom in which she is teaching. The experiences I have had with Ms. Buchin allows me to recommend her as a teacher. She is dedicated to teaching and has the tools necessary to be a successful classroom teacher. She has demonstrated an understanding of teaching theories and is able to discuss teaching strategies with an open mind. I find her inquisitive and eager to be part of the teaching community. Please feel free to contact me regarding this recommendation.
