The Crew Management Module is used for entering,
viewing and printing all data required to maintain an
in depth profile about Seafarers. It has windows for
Crew Basic Biodata, certificates, education, training,
medical, previous sea-services, dependents and
appraisals
MPS Crew can also be used to operate a crew
planning (rotation) program and can produce a large
variety of crew lists, crew on vacation, crew on
planning in view and print mode. A series of statisti-
cal reports are also available.
"“y Appraisal reports generated onboard ships in
the Spectral Ship Administrative System can
be imported to MPS.
Functions to search for crew with a specific
competence and to produce competence
matrixes required by Oil Majors are also
included.
The interface of MPS Crew is designed with a
“down to earth” approach that makes it easy
to enter data, navigate the system, and
produce reports
Uses a Graphical “drag and drop” Interface to
effect and view long term planning.
The User will operate the crew rotation program
by dragging and dropping boxes with the names
of the seamen at the appropriate places of the
LTP surface.
The start and end of service periods are seen as
horizontally stretched rows, which can be easily
read. Contracts can be extended or shortened
by just dragging the end of a row.
Planning done in this module will update MPS
Crew automatically.
Includes a facility to search for personnel with
the required competence to join aspecific vessel.
Can output the planning to MS Excel.
The MPS pay module is a multi payroll system with a
high degree of user-generated flexibility. An unlim-
ited number of wage scales, and user defined
earnings and deductions can be created. This means
that any type of deduction for social costs, taxes,
etc. can be set up.
The MPS payroll can process various crew advances
and allotments imported electronically from the
Spectral Ship Administrative System (SAS) which is
used onboard ships.
All output reports like wage slips, payroll summaries,
and bank reports are designed to the specific layout
required by the Client, Export files can also be
designed for output to file in accordance with stan-
dards required by the Client's bank.
The Philippine version of the Pay Module (Allotment
Payroll) also generates a large number of reports,
which are required for submission to various Govern-
ment offices.
The MPS Pay System can also be used to monitor
earnings and deductions of leave days for seafarers
‘on permanent pay.
The MPS Internet Interface (MPSi) runs on a web
browser and is connected to an MPS database located
in a server that is hosted at the clients’ office. It has
an interface very similar to MPS Crew and accesses
the same database as MPS Crew. The website is pro-
tected by passwords so only authorized personnel
can access the information.
MPSi is used for adding, viewing or printing
the same information about a seafarer like
that which is maintained in MPS Crew. It can
also be used to upload scanned images of
Seafarers Documents to the Main MPS
database hosted in the Web server.
MPSi can be set up to filter data seen in the
Application so only personnel employed
through a specific Manning Agent or person-
nel Deployed to as specific Client can be
seen.
The MPSi module is therefore very useful for
Companies that would like to provide infor-
mation to their Clients about crew they
employ on behalf of their client, or to com-
panies who would like their Manning Agent
to feed Crew Data directly into their MPS
Database via the Internet.

The Document Viewer is used to scan documents and
assign scanned files to the records of the seafarers.
The files can be easily viewed or printed either from the
document Viewer Module or from related windows within
MPS Crew.
Scanned Documents files are automatically transferred
from one MPS site to another with the MPS synchronization
module.
The MPS data exchange system makes it possible for two or
several MPS programs to synchronize their data automati-
cally.
The synchronization is done via the Internet. Several MPS
sites can thereby communicate with each other by regularly
exchanging small but comprehensive export/import files.
Seafarers’ details can be generated at one MPS site,
updated and modified at any other MPS site, and finally
exported back to the original site. Each seaman's record
will contain information as to when it was last updated, by
which user, and from which site.
The MPS data exchange also export records for a group of
seamen onboard a particular ship to the Spectral SAS
program that is used onboard ships. All crew details,
payroll details and administrative data are included in this
export file, SAS can likewise export data back to MPS.
For a Ship Owner or Crew Management Company, a crew
management application like MPS is an important tool.
Each MPS license is therefore covered by a service agree-
ment that guarantees the Client a prompt and long-term
service, free training of users and free upgrades whenever
released. The dedicated service provided by our technical
staff makes Spectral to a reliable long time partner.
