Research proposal
I had a question in my mind for a while, which is how did we end up with so many
languages. Therefore, in this project I am going to talk about the history of languages.
Since the topic is very huge. I had to be more specific. Therefore, I am going to talk about
Semitic languages. Before I started the project, I believed that all of the languages do not
relate to each other. However, there are a lot of languages that does relate. For example,
Arabic and Hebrew are related. They share couple of words, and both of them are written
from right to left. Also, before I began developing working knowledge. I thought I could
know how did the world end up with so many languages. However, after I have
developed my working knowledge. I realized it is impossible to know how we ended up
with so many languages. Because, there is lack of information on languages, and
therefore we cannot reach to the history of each language. For example, when it comes to
Arabic language, there is not old content. I mean a very old content that shows how the
Arabic language got evolved. Therefore, it is very hard to know how the world ended up
with so many languages.
