Men’s Dress socks now and then

From ties, socks, underwear and even undershirts, men’s clothes have
developed over the years. The designs have changed. The kind of material
used might have been the same but surely the quality has improved a lot.
Dress socks have been worn since 1583 when socks were just in solid colors
and it was in 1589 when Rev. William Lee of Nottinghamshire when dress
socks came out in different designs and colors. From solid color to plaid,
checkered or striped, men’s dress socks came all the way from 1583 to
continue upholding the style of formal attire up to the present. The length of
these socks is usually up to over the calf which is so far the longest available.

There are many different kinds of socks which are designed for different
purposes. Men’s dress socks are basically the kind of socks worn to match a
suit. It is made of thin or silky material usually nylon or wool. Socks in general
were made to protect the feet, keep the feet warm and prevent the skin from
rubbing the shoes and in the case of dress socks, aside from the benefits they
can do to the feet, they are also indispensable part of a man’s wardrobe as it
simply adds to the attire of the bearer. When it comes to the material, it is only
the quality that has changed over the years but the material is still the same.
In the past, men used plain colors for their socks because that was
supposed to be. The socks just simply had to complement the colors of the
suit of the bearer. These days however, we could see the different patterns
and designs being used in making dress socks. The designs of the socks
go along with the designs of suits and ties nowadays. In the past, we could
only see black suit which actually never goes out of style. These days,
fashion designers have contemporary and fashionable ideas to improve
men’s wardrobe. Thanks to them, we could see men wearing colourful or
light-colored suits or even striped suits.

Clothes and accessories may go out of fashion but not for men’s dress
socks. That is a good thing about it. When somebody buys you dress
socks, you wouldn’t need to worry whether they are in or not. All designs
simply never go out of style. All you need to do is to know how to do the
color combination with the suit to complete your outfit. When seasons
change and your wardrobe changes, your dress socks can still be used and
need not be kept in the inner closet. One thing is for sure now, men’s dress
socks have become a necessary element of a man’s wardrobe and without
it, and executive and salaried men can’t just go to work without them on.
