Fluorine
Fluorine - Fluorine has an atomic number of 9 and
is denoted by the symbol F. Elemental fluorine
was first discovered in 1886 by isolating it from
hydrofluoric acid. Fluorine exists as a diatomic
molecule in its free state (F2) and is the most
abundant halogen found in the Earth's crust.
Fluorine is the most electronegative element in
the periodic table. It appears as a pale yellow gas
at room temperature. Fluorine also has a
relatively small atomic radius.

The properties
7 valence electrons, range from a solid ,liquid or
gas in room temp. very high electrongatibities.
Reactive with the alkallne earths forming stable
ionic crystals.

Bromine- antoine jerome baiarp,leopold gmelin
Iodine- bernard courtois
Astatine- emilio segre

uses
1.Florine- used for tooth past.
. Chlorine- used to treat swimming pools.
. Iodine- used for food supplements.
. Bromine- used for flame proof agents.
. Astative- in chemo treatments.

Flourine- is the most chemically reactive element.

Cholrine- 2nd lightest halogen gas.
Bromine- dosent occur naturally on earth.
Iodine- important for all living organisms.
Astatine- does grater damaged to cells the
thyroid then iodine does.

We have group 17 that is the halogen group.

Florien, chlorine, iodine and bromine are all
in group 17.chlorine is in the chemicals used
to clean swimming pools and hot tubs.
Florien is used in toothpaste to whiten your
teeth. Halogens are one of the most
chemically reactive elements there are on
earth. It reacts with anything. Iodine can be
used in chemo to treat cancer. It can also be
used to clean cuts and heal wounds.
