PROJECT NAME: Animal Mutation

NAME: Sydney Audet
a. Predict what problems you may in contour with the software and or the overall assignment, state
your reasons why you think this.
I think that problems with this assignment will be with first deciding what animals that I will be
choosing to mash up together. Then deciding what parts of the animal would be placed on the
other animal and then using the layer mask to blend in the two animals.
b. A paragraph explaining which application(s) you used to create the project. This is not a step-bystep how-to response; it is rather a general description of the application and process you used.
(E.g. After creating a box, using the rectangle tool. I used the convert to curves tool and modified
the box with the shape tool, until I achieved my desired shape)
One of the tools that I first started using with this assignment is the quick selection tool to select a
certain section of the animal that I was using to combine it other the other animal that I used. I used the
paint brush tool after creating a layer mask to help blend the two animal into one. I used the text tool to
create my name for my newly created animal. I also used the lasso tool to create a certain part of the
animal to become content aware so I could add a different part of my second animal onto the first.
c. Write a brief paragraph describing a problem that occurred during the project. What
specific obstacles(s) did you run into? How did you handle it?
A problem that I had with this assignment is using the layer mask and paint brush to help
blend the two animals together. I would ended up deleting too much of the animal and
having to retry multiple times. I kept trying to redo the parts of the animal until I was
happy with what it looked like.
d. After completing your assignment, what would you of liked to change on your work?
I would have liked to change the animals that I had chosen to create the animal mutation
because after it was completed I didnt like the finished look.

I didnt enjoy this assignment because I was using everything that I already knew
how to use and I would have liked to try something new.
2. What would you recommend changing on this assignment?
I would recommend adding another tool that could possibly be used with this
assignment.
