Announcements:

Review of previous season special events figures and projections for the
coming year.

Old Business:

Reports:
Grad Nite

J. Jones, discussed the possibility of changing GRAD NITE in June to


COLLAGE NIGHT. Of all the special events groups listed, this is one
target area that is completely missing from any special event. High
Schools and elementary schools have a number of special days. Business
and industry are also prevalent on the events calendar. College-age
students are not only one of our highest employees categories, but are also
a highly supportive amusement park group. The number of colleges, not
only in the immediate area, but also in surrounding states, warrants some
special events day. This change was supported by a unanimous vote of the
six Marketing divisions and will begin in the next few weeks if
management agrees.

Math & Science Day M. Anthony reported on the overall progress for Math & Science Day to
be held May 20. He stated that reservations are coming in at a faster rate
than last year.
Other members of this committee reported as follows:
P. Daniels

Merchandising. Front gates will open at 8:30 a.m. International Street


shops will open at 9 a.m.

S. Kramer

Security. A clearance list for groups will be given to admissions.


Additional parking lot security will be added because of the number of
buses expected.
Front Gate Policy. Math & Science Day is an exclusive event; therefore,
the park is closed to the general public. Everyone entering the park must
present a Math and Science Day admission ticket. Season Pass holders

must have the special Math & Science Day ticket along with their actual
Season Pass card. Other Season Pass holders may not be admitted.

Security. Please let me know if there are any unusual first aid needs or
student-related disability problems.

M. ONeal

Group Sales. Please schedule two associates the Will Call Windows from
8:15 a.m. to 11 a.m. We will call Linda Day with the final food guarantee
on Friday May 15, and will update daily if necessary.

G. Lining

Entertainment & Shows. Please have, cartoon characters available in the


morning at the front gate from 8:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. Please see the
special event form for picnic grove requests. Also, please make sure the
TV is up and running.
The deejay is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the International
Street Pavilion and at the waiting area for the Devils Backbone coaster
ride from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Special Events Day

C. Smith confirmed the tentative list of special events of clubs and


organizations. She expects to be adding about five more to the list as soon
as the request forms from those clubs and organizations are returns. This
years deadline for the request is May 1.

Business and Industry A. Bird is in the process of completing the Business & Industry special
events list for her clients. The sales representative are working on this with
Amy. She expects this list to be completed by June 1.

Account Executives seem to be having no trouble getting used to the laptop computers. They
are especially happy about how much easier it is to complete reports on
time.
