Minister for Health
Member for Farrer, NSW
517 Keiwa Street
Albury NSW 2640
Dear Minister,
I am writing to you to ask for your support in addressing the obesity epidemic in
Australia.
As a parent and a taxpayer I am deeply concerned that there is insufficient funding
for obesity education in all our schools and a cap on funding to schools in NSW over
the next three years. I respectfully ask you to help improve the quality of
information available to my children so they can make healthy choices in regard to
their nutrition.
As it stands even after parent contributions are taken into account government
schools are resourced at around 20% less than private schools and catholic schools.
While the federal government has stated there will be no decrease in funding in the
short term. I am seeking a commitment from you to restore the previous level of
funding to government schools.
Pleas raise our concerns with all the state ministers for health as I am sure you do
not need to be convinced of the seriousness of the threat to our childrens health
caused by obesity.
Yours Sincerely
