Assessing young learners

The main objective of this research is to determine the importance of assessment in the context of
achievement in learning process in a second language at state educational institutions in
Montenegro. My aim was to carry out the functions of the assessment in the context of learning
process such as: personal attitude toward assessment, instructor, the quality of organization of
learning process and the selection of curriculum and its application within the teaching process.
Since, Montenegro changed curriculum in the past few years, because of the reform of the
educational system. I want to research the quality of the study and the quality of educational
process of learning which will lead to objective achievement, desired outcome and the quality of
learning.
Therefore, my aim was to research and identify variables and factors that could impact on
students assessment in the context of learning a second language and to what extends these
factors affect the learning outcome of pupils at Primary schools. The factors that affect on
achieving assessment is based on: gender, age and personal factors.

Research Questions and Hypothesis


To achieve the research objectives, this study intended to determine and explore:
1. Is there any correlation between the assessment and achievement in terms of age?
2. Is there any relationship between assessment and achievement in terms of gender?
3. Is there any difference between the learners assessment and the

personal factors

affecting achieving learning outcomes based on gender, age and year of study?

The research hypotheses for this research are:


H - There is no significant correlation between the assessment and achievement in terms
of age.
H - There is no significant relationship between assessment and achievement in terms of
gender.
H - There is no significant difference between the learners assessment and the personal
factors affecting achieving learning outcomes based on gender, age and year of study.
