SATYAM SCANDAL
The chairman of Satyam confessed his manipulation of US$ 1.47 billion
Few months before the scandal, the chairman claimed that the company
had achieved this in a challenging global macroencomic environment

lie : What started as a marginal gap between actual operating profit and the
one reflected in the books continued to grow over the years.
The chairman and his brother was finally arrested by the CID Andhra
Pradesh Police.

INDIAN COAL ALLOCATION SCAM - COLGATE

In March 2012 the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) office
accused the Government of India of allocating coal blocks in an inefficient
manner
CAGs argument was that Government had the authority to allocate coal
blocks by a process of competitive bidding, but chose not to
As a result both public sector enterprises (PSEs) and private firms paid less
than they might have otherwise
In March the CAG estimated that the "windfall gain" to the allocates was Rs
1067303 crore
The CBI has named a dozen Indian firms in a FIR the first step in a criminal
investigation
