for what he has. Alsg going through hard times can really change a person, and Holden can relate
to that. Holden being able to relate to someone can make him more open and talk about his true
emotions. Holden’s favorite person is his little sister Phoebe. The reason for this is because of
her innocence and joy which is what Holden strives for. Holden hates growing up because he
affiliates it with failure, so having some innocence brings Holden to a better time. This also helps
Holden bring out his emotional side. Holden likes people who can dance. Dancing shows a more
genuine and creative side to a person and Holden appreciates this. Holden has a hard time truly
expressing himself at times, dancing is one way that can help him be sincere. Holden shows us
this when he dances with a girl at the bar, “The blonde was some dancer, she was one of the best
dancers I ever danced with. I'm not kidding, some of these very stupid girls can really knock you
