May 10, 2014 To: Human Resources Ihave had the pleasure of working with Rachel Jacob for the last two years. Although she is employed as an interpreter for a student, she quickly took on a much larger role in the classroom. In this last year, she has been functioning, for all intents and purposes, as a co- teacher. Rachel has developed and directed the use of technology in our classroom, designed instructional materials, delivered small-group instruction to students, and has recently begun lesson planning for small-group and whole-group instruction. | discuss with her all aspects of classroom functioning; classroom management, curriculum design, |.E.P. development, personnel issues, and school-home relationships. One of Rachel’s greatest strengths is her ability to focus in on the academic and emotional needs of each individual student, and then use that information to create original curricula that meets the instructional needs of that student. Another strength is her incorporation of all forms of technology into the classroom. Rachel is very comfortable with technology and is able to use it creatively in her lessons. Rachel is a supportive team member. She is fair and honest and communicates well with others. During my absences from the classroom, despite her relative inexperience, the other team members look to Rachel for guidance, and she takes a leadership position. | think Rachel is a talented, instinctively gifted teacher and has a wonderful career ahead of her. | strongly recommend her for a special education teaching position in the district. Sincerely, \ Al Kiarah Morgan Cross-Categorical Classroom Teacher ~ Wilson K-8 696-5846
