Dear Senior Exploration Judges:

Good evening, my name is Katie. All of my life I have been transferring schools and moving
between different towns in New York State and going back and forth from different areas of
South Carolina in the last few years. Saint James is the third High School I have attended in the
five years I have been going to school. Regrettably, I have had to spend an extra year in school
due to poor attendance. My attendance has not been the best most of High School. However, I
have never lacked motivation to complete everything required to receive my diploma and a
registered nursing license so I can help people be healthy.

The reason why I found motivation in learning about how alcohol impacts our bodies is
because I have heard too much about alcohol related accidents. I have always wondered why
people would choose to partake in something so reckless. I believe a change should be made to
prevent further hardships after a bitter realization. Countless lives have been altered negatively
and affected for the worse due to alcoholism and what it does to an individual that it needs to be
talked about. Too many people are uninformed on the real dangers of it.

The only difficulty I have had with this project is that English is my weakest subject because I
am not a strong writer. But, It was simple to find things for the research component because there

were multiple sources which had mostly the same information. All of the sources I used gave me
the same idea that alcohol is a hazard to your health.

I appreciate you giving up your time and attention to read my letter. I am excited to present the
rest of my senior exploration to you. Hopefully this presentation inspires you to raise awareness
of alcohol abuse. Thank you for giving me the opportunity.
