This was my first time bivouac in such secluded countryside. I stood in the
muddy path with the sticky brick-red soil around my boots. I stared straight
ahead of me at the serpentine course of the river which the muddy river
water flowed rapidly. This was the longest river in Malaysia, Sungai Rajang. I
sighed deeply and wondered how much hardships did the native people had
to endure at all this times. As I looked far ,I saw an old native man was
paddled a dilapidated sampan towards me. He welcomed me in a quaint tone
of Malay. What an exhilaration and soothing 2 hours cruise
