Requirements: Any German able to vote in the bundestag elections and are at

Germanys lawmaking body is called the Bundestag and Americas is called The
senate and House of Representatives.
Germany is bicameral and so is America
There is a total of 630 people in Germany while there is a total of 535 people in
Americas congress.

Difference between rights


Compared to America, Germany has a strict censorship of speech but has recently
got the right of press back since world war 2
Germanys right of religion is the same as Americas right.
In Germany, to own a gun you have to have a reason for owning it. Self defense
isnt a good enough reason for owning a gun.

Political parties
The main political parties in Germany are CDU(Christian Democratic Union of
Germany), SPD(Social Democratic Party of Germany), and CSU(Christian Social
Union of Bavaria)
The main political parties of U.S. are the Republicans and the Democrats.

Elections and Voting


In Germany, like America, you have to be of the age of at least 18 to vote in the
elections but can be changed by a simple federal law. They lose their right to vote
if they have been in prison for over a year.
Elections for German president are every 5 years, while in America it is only every
4 years.
Elections in Germany are held under the Bundestag.

Taxes and Financing


In Germany, if you made under 8,354 euros a year you didnt have to pay an
income tax. Income tax is usually between 14% to 42% in germany.
Germany spends about 36.6 billion on its military while america spends about
597.5 billion on its.
Germany spends roughly 4.5% of its budget on education while America spends
about 5.5%
Germany spends roughly 11.3% on healthcare and America spends 17.1%

Law
As of 2013 there was a total of 5,961,662 reported crimes in germany and in the
U.S. there was 367.9 crimes per 100,000 people.
The current prison population in germany is 77,166 people and Americas current
prison population is 2,193,798 people.
Germany does not use the death penalty anymore while America still uses it rarely.
Germany has three types of courts, they are ordinary courts(deals with criminal
and most civil cases), Specialized courts(deals with administrative, labor, social
security, and tax and patent laws.), and constitutional law(reviews and interprets
the constitution.)

Current relations with U.S.


The relationship between the U.S. and Germany is still a little rocky after America
was allegedly getting information from two spies. But besides from that the
relations have never been better and are currently allied with each other.
