Snow Day
Breaking news, the following schools are closed due to the snow storms overnight:
Cobb County, DeKalb County, Fulton County, Gwinnett County, and Henry County . . .
Yes! No teachers, no enormous workload, no shivering ice cold class rooms, and no
stomach-churning lunches I said jumping out of my bed as I heard the newscaster report this
wonderful news
No school, she said. I looked outside, it wasnt the usual countryside I saw every day, it
was a Winter Wonderland.
A couple or six hours of waking back up I decided to go outside and play with my friends
and of course the snow. As soon as I seen all of my friends, we were all excited to not be in
Ms.Zs class, she could never stop talking and plus her classroom always smelled like an athletic
locker room. Anyway, we were all still catching up with each other, until we heard it was going
to be a fight between Jasper, the neighborhood bully, he would send chills bumps up your back
just by looking at him, and Kevin, the coward, he would say ,but never do. The screaming of the
childrens cheering the fighters on, I tried to stay back away from the flying fists. The fight
began, the two fighters going in circles, the crowd was becoming annoyed, until Jasper caught
hold of Kevin. You heard a loud smash, Jasper, the bully, dunked him in a snow bank headfirst,
causing a headache, bruised nose followed by a loud scream. All of a sudden you felt this rumble
from the ground that moved you, the tree started to fall in the distance, then you would a see

creature a in the mist. It was white, the tall fury creature that was frightening and had a glaring
face.
Its the Abominable Snowmen, one kid said. We all screamed and ran as far as we
could until he caught each and every one of us. He took us to his dark and cold cave that reeked
of dead animals, his cave was dull, filthy and disturbing, and it looked as if someone took all
their garbage and dumped it here.
Everyone faces looked pitiful and doleful as hours passed. We all grew angry and tired
and we were all ready to leave. So I had an idea, a plan to go home to escape from the
Abominable Snowmen. So I whispered each step quietly so I wouldnt wake the sleeping beast.
We all have to use each other to escape, we need a person to cover up all the snow tracks,
once we are all out, then we would move at a steady, silent pace, so we would finally be back
home. We all thought the escape would be easy, but just in case he woke up, we had a pile of
snowballs ready to throw at him. We also found rocks and long pieces of sticks that we put in
front of the cave, so he would trip if he was no longer sound asleep. It was time, we all silently
and carefully crawled out of the cave, since the many sticks we laid out in front of the cave it
would have been hard for us to walk out. The last person making sure all the tracks we made
were unseen, but surely and suddenly he woke up make angrily grunting sounds, which terrified
all of us.
Run! I screamed. We all ran as fast as possible not evening thinking about the plan we
tried to follow before. As soon as I turned around all I could see is the Abominable Snowmen
picking up one kid, then another, and another, He stopped and turned around and headed back to
his cave. With seven of us kids left, not evening giving it a second thought, we followed the
beast back to its cave, but before we followed, we made this plan. We all thought, that the first

thing we need to do is stop the Abominable Snowmen, So Madison, the neighborhood smarty,
said we should make a huge snowball where it would crash into the snowmen making his speed
slow down she said. We all agreed that would make sense. So we first started with making the
snowball first, we each made three medium size snowball, that we then put them all together,
making a 9-foot slush ball. The next thing was to see who is going to be the distraction, to draw
the wild beast attention.
Ill do it. said Jasper. I said I guess I rescue them but me going to need some help.
Ill help. said Kevin. The other kids are going to help roll the snowball into the
snowmen.
We were all terrified, but we had to save our friends. I and Kevin entered the cave we saw
our friends in the corner tied up in some type of contraction. So, Jasper, picked up a huge rock,
though it touching the nose of the beast, the beast took off chasing Kevin. Kevin and I untied all
our friends and we left taking a back way path to the other kids.
Now, Now! screamed Kevin and down it came the snowball getting much more
momentum than we anticipated. We all screamed and cheered that the Abominable Snowmen
was no longer our major problem. We headed back to our warm comfy houses, the walk wasnt
that bad, we all talked about our whole adventure. This was the day we all knew topped any
other school day.
