Sandner cello CC-6

problem:
Knock made a deep scratch on top and a dent in headstock
materials used:
for varnish:
dark seedlack (shellac) ()
sandarack ()
mastic ()
alcohol ( )
for sanding and polishing:
razor blade, scotch tape
sandpapers grade 400, 1000, 2000, 3000
eraser
double sided tape
lidl car polishing kit
soft eyeglasses cloth
Belacura string polishing fluid
Procedure:
Mixed shellac 40%, sandarac5% and mastic 5% with alcohol 50% in
a small jarr
Shaked it every 3 hours for a period of 2 days
With a small brush made thin layers and allowed to dry for a day.
After more than 10 layers I made a scraping tool with razor blade and
tape and passed the surface carefully until no more varnish was taken
from the top anymore. Then I cut thin stripes from various sandpeper
grits and did strip sanding as shown on:

I then made small blocks out of a rubber and I sticked on them sandpapers with double sided tape. I wetsanded using the blocks up to
3000 grit. Then I used the polishing pastes from the lidl polishing kit
which I applied using the eyeglasses soft cloth.
