The Federal Communications Commission, an independent agency overseen by the Congress of
the United States government, formulated an article on the threats of texting and driving.
Virginia Tech Transportation reported that text messaging can cause a car crash at a risk of 23
times more than undistracted driving. As of 2012, the National Highway Traffic Safety
Administration, announced that 18% of all fatal accidents was caused by an electronic device
distraction. Such percent derived into 3,328 people killed and 412, 000 wounded.
