Aim of Scheme: to use line and shape to create a poster through screen print on the theme of making a
statement
Class size, profile and details: mixed ability, 9 students
Duration of lessons: single and double class (40MINS/80MINS)
Profile
Students will learn the history of the Dublin Monahan bombing through the poetry of Eavan Bolands, Child of our
Times, students will discuss their feelings of the conflict and will create a screen print around the words that they
express through the poetry. Students will learn two methods of printing. Stencil printing which will allow them to put
down a signature colour and will learn about block printing which allows for detail of their main design.
