Dear First Grade Families,
I want to thank you for supporting me and your child
through our MAP testing period. Again, while these
tests do not measure all of the wonderful skills that your
children possess, they do measure academic progress.
I am very impressed with the scores that your children
achieved, and will be happy to share the data with any
of you who would like to meet to discuss it. All of our
little learners showed tremendous growth.

We are coming up on the end of our community helpers

unit this week. I want to thank Matthieu Crette for
joining us last week to discuss his role in our
community. If there are any other parents who would
like to join us to discuss their job, we would love a visit.

How You Can Help: Continue to work on
math fluency for single digit addition and
subtraction problems. As we move to two
digit work, this skill is essential

Writing Trait, Contractions, Proper and
common nouns
How You Can Help: When reading stories
at home, look at the different punctuation
and how it should be read. Review parts of
speech.

How You Can Help: This week is educator
appreciation week. One of our lines of
inquiry is showing thanks to our helpers.
