and spic e an d something dar k, ear thy, an d metal lic. A li ttl e li ke bl ood.

This was the shop o f th e holy man Devi , who was ver y bro ke and thus very
desperate, and who recli ned cross legged on th e coun ter of his stall , pick ing
di rt fr om beneath his tai ls wi th a bl essed kris kni fe.
