LESSON PLAN: TECHNOLOGY and US

WARM UP: Make students look at the following images. Ask them the following
questions: What message do the images want to convey? Describe the people who
are present in each of them. Who are them? What is their relationship? What has
just happened? What is happening? What is going to happen?

DISCUSSION: Discuss the following questions with your students:

Has technology influenced human beings for the better of for the worse?
What are the benefits of technology?
Suggested answers: - Mass communication
- Social Networks
- Long distance communication
What are the negative aspects/ disadvantages of technology?
- Isolation
- Our privacy is at stake
- We get lazy
Do you think you are addicted to technology?
Does technology make help us socialize?
How does technology influence humans privacy?
Do you think machines should take on human responsibilities? (example of
the robot who entered university)

READING: work on the following article: THE FLIGHT FROM CONVERSATION. Ask
students to read it and say how it relates to their own experience.
