Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.

A lifeless circular clock hung on an insipid, green-and-blue stripped wall, very softly
clacking away and hidden by black veils. For a long while, the darkness held its breath. Still. Peaceful.
Silent. Something flickered. Two huge glinting black eyes darted hither and tither, and surveyed the clock
warily. The slender figure furtively scurried across the room. The wooden door squeaked opened and in a
second, squeaked closed.
The figure heaved a sigh, patted her scraggy chest several times and muttered a quick prayer of thanks.
Dressed in a blue casual dress, her face ironically resembled an anime doll; a diminutive frame, huge brown
eyes, a tiny button nose, two dear red lips, and silky, flowing dark hair.
Today. Was. The. Day. Those words resonated through the dainty figure like the chiming of Big Ben in
London.
The girl vacantly stared at the green, metal bench. In her little head, a mini movie of yesterday popped up. In
it, she saw a dark-haired girl stealthily tiptoed towards the door, as she smelt oil, smoke and spices, and
heard sizzling. The girl then quietly pushed the door closed, and tiptoed to her wardrobe. Then, she slowly
tugged the wardrobe doors open. She softly sighed. Quickly, she coarsely yanked every single piece of
clothing out and flung them on her cushiony bed, after which she pulled out a purple, canvas baggage and
hastily shoved all the clothings into it. She zipped the bulging baggage and lugged it into her hollow
wardrobe. Gradually, memories of yesterday blurred and the girl was sucked back to the present.
Looking at the wide, empty road, the girl felt adrenaline gushing in the veins of every single part of her petite
body as her two small hands clenched on to her purple baggage. She could feel her body jiggling in pure
intoxication. As she sat on the scorching, metal bench, her mind was permeated with images of the
glamorous City of London, including the gigantic ferris wheel near River Thames.
A small, cuboid bus, with a few cracks and scratches on its window panes, stopped. As the girl stepped in,
her eyes shaped into narrow slits, her lips clenched tightly as she determinedly thought, When I reached the
City of London, everyone will be wowed by my dancing skills! I will be the world's best dancer!
