AAE 375: AENJ Conference Proposal Assignment

This assignment provides you with a chance to practice writing a proposal for the AENJ conference. Although you are not
required to actually submit the proposal to AENJ online, it is strongly recommended. (Note: Recent graduates stated
interviewers were very impressed with them presenting!)

With todays rapid global climate change, pollution, and overfishing resulting in the deaths of millions
of fish and the bleaching of 90% of the worlds largest coral reef, something needs to be done before
our planet is beyond saving. The lesson presented will show how to get students involved in current
ecological issues by examining and incorporating specific ecological events into a collage. Inspirational
materials focus on the works of contemporary artist Robert Rauschenberg, with some other images
from more traditional printmakers like Katsushika Hokusai.
