Intro to Writing

Over my time in high school I have written so many different essays. From book reports
to labs, to personal, and more writing in high school has been broad and everywhere.
The first essay I selected was my failure essay that I wrote in the beginning of this year.
In this essay I wrote about the challenges I overcame in my sophomore year of high school. I
wrote about issues I say in ASB and with the advisor. It was interesting to write about something
that I never talk about and how it had such a major impact on my life in high school.
The second essay I wrote was a controversial essay on capital punishment. This essay
was very interesting for me to write because I have a strong belief in capital punishment. In this
paper I wrote about how I believe that capital punishment should be strongly enforced and uses
nationwide on criminals that commit murder. In the paper I also write the counter argument for
why capital punishment should not be used in this country on the mentally ill and because it is
inhumane to kill someone as a punishment.
The third essay is my research paper. This paper is on the topic of education. More
specifically on the topic of failing education in the country. I discussed how education is not
what is used to be in the country and how we need to change the the system before it is too late.
The fourth and fifth papers I wrote are from my physics class junior year. The first is on
snowboarding. Snowboarding is my passion and is something I really love to do. The second is a
lab report that talks about how to build a toy. This was a group paper that was intended for the
purpose of creation a lab that future students can complete.
The final paper I selected was a response to President Obama's State of the Union
Address in 2015. I wrote the response saying that the President had nothing to say good. Overall
the essays I selected showcase what I have written over the past few years in high school.
