Wolf of Wall Street Review

Mark Fagan

The movie is about a stockbroker who works on Wall Street in New

York City during the 1990s. He runs a company that commits stock
fraud after a crash in Wall Street that finds the lead looking for work.
The story is based on that of Jordan Belfort.
Leonardo DiCaprio plays Belfort (the stockbroker) whos rise to wealth
leads to questioning by the FBI, Matthew McConaughey plays Mark
Hanna, Margot Robbie plays Naomi, Jonah Hill plays Donnie, Rob
Reiner plays Max Belfort and Kyle Chandler plays Denham. P. J. Byrne,
Jon Favreau, Joanna Lumley, Spike Jonze, and Edward Herrmann also
appear in the movie.
Mise en Scene can be seen with the movie being set in offices on Wall
Street, New York, usually. Other scenes use a super yacht and Belforts
giant estate. The movie is 179 minutes long and rated 18s due to harsh
language and unsuitable scenes. It was nominated for three Oscars,
including Best Picture. There was outrage in Hollywood when Leonardo
DiCaprio didnt win an Oscar in the movie.
