‘To Whom it may Concem,
It would be dishonest of me to perpetuate a misconception about an individual, but 'm going to doit anyway.
Briton Stak is Superman.
‘The above statement is obviously false; but to hear friends, peers, and teachers speak of him, one might rightfully
begin to think of Britton es some rare breed of superhuman. As a consequence of his intelligence, his athletic
prowess, and his downright rood looks, he might even draw envy or skepticism, as if he were a genetic experiment
ormillion-dollar-man style cyborg,
We don’t really understand Britton, He defies not only our stereotypes, but our very paradigms. His articulate
‘manner and elite academic performance seem to preclude the athletic achievements he consistently displays.
Conversely, his commitment to team sports-participating in football, basketball, and track all four years at El
Dorado—would seem to hamperhis academic achievement. Imean, he’s stil just one person, and his day is only
twenty-four hours long like the rest of ous.
Ofcourse, elevating someone to superhero status like this is actually to reduce them, It requires that we ignore their
idiosyncrasies~their very humanity~-as we focus solely on their dominant traits, Britton seems infallible,
indomitable, infinitely capable. I’m sure he gets tired of hearing it
‘What one might tend to overlook at first glance aetually becomes Britton’s defining characteristic when getting to
know him: he’s a nice guy! Ironically, when we see only his speed, his smarts, and his charm, we miss his best
‘qualities. Britton cares about people, and not just theoretically. He walks the walk, tating everyone he meets as
‘worthy of dignity and respect, choosing to see the best in people rather than focusing on their faults. He is helpful,
kind, and considerate, He gives ffeely of himself to all within his sphere of influence.
Ithas been a pleasure and an honor to work with Brition the past «wo years as his English teacher at El Dorado
High School. He has consistently scored at the top of his class due to his intellectual rigor, diligence, and plain
hard work.
‘Although he is merely human like the rest of us, Britton is sure to find success in any endeavor to which he applies
his considerable talents, We should assist him in any way that we can. Please contact me if you have any questions
about this recommendation.
