Friends of Poynette Game Farm is offering seven Learn to Hunt (LTH) pheasant programs in
2016. These programs require a $10 reservation fee. These two-day programs will provide firearm
safety, shotgun shooting, hunting dog demonstration, a mentored pheasant hunt, pheasant biology
and management, hunting regulations, pheasant field dressing demonstration, and recipes. Open to
any individual 10 years or older with no pheasant hunting experience. Parents or legal guardians of
minors are encouraged to participate. Friends of Poynette Game Farm is a 501c(3) non-profit
organization dedicated to supporting the mission of the WI DNR State Game Farm. The Friends
supports youth and novice hunting programs offered on the following dates and places.

2016 Learn to Hunt Program Application


The Friends of Poynette Game Farm recognize and value the importance of providing hunting
opportunities to novice hunters or families interested in hunting. It is widely known that hunting
enjoyment significantly increases with the involvement of a mentor, someone knowledgeable about
the outdoors and willing to teach and guide a novice hunter in the field.
Friends of Poynette Game Farm supports Learn to Hunt (LTH) programs offered in various
communities noted on the event calendar.

Wisconsin hunter safety certification is not required to participate.


A $10 participant reservation fee is required with this application. Financial assistance may
be available, if needed.
All equipment, ammunition, firearms, lodging, and food will be provided.
Participants must have no prior pheasant hunting experience.
Participants may not have participated in a previous Pheasant LTH.
Parental or guardian approval is required for participants under 18 years old.
All participants must have a DNR Customer ID prior to the event. A Customer ID can be
obtained by calling 1-888-936-7463 from 7 am 10 pm. This is the same number you may
have from hunter education or a prior hunting or fishing license
