Secret Life of Bees Reflection
All seats provide equal viewing of the universe. Lorrie Moore

During my sophomore year, I have pushed myself to academically, more than I ever have
before. I implemented a continuous schedule of working on school work everyday after school;
and I did this mainly by reflecting on my freshman year. After one week of my sophomore year I
came to the realization that I didnt put in nearly as much work as I couldve in my freshman
year. Although instead of regretting my freshman experience, I looked at my school year from a
different perspective, I realized at the beginning of the year that everyone was an on equal
playing ground. At this point in time, who ever works the hardest achieves the most out of
their year. I feel this is true not only in academics, but in a multitude of events in life, that
includes the aspect of competition.
This idea of having an equal level of competition is a direct correlation with the epigraph,
All seats provide equal viewing of the universe, by Lorrie Moore. Other people may analyze
the quote as an explanation of social equality. It is written in the Declaration of Independence,
that all men are created equal, and this quote is a great translation of that phrase. Although
how it relates to me is more based on my academic year as a sophomore. In addition to that, I
feel this same concept relates to other aspects as well. This includes sports I play such as
basketball, and other activities such as playing the piano. Overall I feel my sophomore year was

a great development in my academic strategies, and I will use my improved attributes for the rest
of my academics, and further experiences in my life.
