- Define menopause and menopausal period .


- Explain the pathophysiology of these changes
- Explain the symptoms of menopause, (general: hot
flushes(85% with 40% have distressing symptoms, fatigue,
depression, loss of interest, insomnia, palpitations,
arthralgia, skin dryness, urogenital, small breast size)
- Complications ( osteoporosis, Alzheimer, cardiovascular
disease)
- Explain the term HRT and the indications (short, long term)
- Effects of HRT on (vagina, urological, skin, bone, Alzheimer,
- Explain long term risks ( endometrial cancer, breast cancer,
CVD, Thromboembolism)
- Explain the contraindications(pregnancy, liver disease,
breast or endometrial cancer, confirmed
venothromboembolism, uncontrolled HTN
- Explain the alternatives for HRT in every complaint( vaginal
estrogen, antidepressants, raloxifene
- Ask for any doubts.
