Beston, Julie A., et al. "Prioritizing Avian Species For Their Risk Of Population-Level
Consequences From Wind Energy Development." Plos ONE 11.3 (2016): 1-19. Academic
Search Complete. Web. 19 Apr. 2016.
This source discusses the downfalls of wind energy. The main downfall explored
was the consequences of wind energy upon particular bird species. This source is relevant
to my essay because it addresses some of the downfalls with using wind farms on land
and offshore regarding avian species, and it gives statistics on bird populations that have
been affected by wind energy. This writer's bias is for addressing the decline in certain
bird populations, as little information is given regarding the benefits of wind farms.
Bekiempis, Victoria. "It's A Wind-Wind Situation." Newsweek Global 162.14 (2014): 1-6.
Academic Search Complete. Web. 19 Apr. 2016.
This source explores the benefits of wind energy. The main benefits explored were
clean energy gains as well as possible reductions in hurricane speeds as a result of an
increase in offshore wind farms. This source is relevant to my essay because it discusses
the benefits of wind energy and gives statistics on how this clean energy source could
benefit the world in the future. This writer's bias is more pro wind energy and tends to

ignore it's potential downfalls, this will need to be addressed with contrasting points on
this issue.
