There is not one student in all of Center High School that doesn’t consider him a friend. He is outgoing, spontaneous, and has the ability to grab the attention of an audience without trying. Another example is his love for sports. As an athletic trainer, it is necessary to understand what you client is experiencing and Oscar has first hand experience dealing with injuries and being forced to sit on the side lines. He would have a very high level of empathy that would allow him to connect extremely well with clients. Oscar is a person that will not take anything for granted. Working at a smaller school, for the past 18 years, has given me the opportunity to watch students grow after they have left my classroom. Ihave watched Oscar grow into a responsible young man, Oscar is an extraordinary young man. As an educator, I have seen many examples of his talent and have been impressed by his diligence and work ethic in athletics, Because of his work ethic, he has played on the high school Varsity Basketball team for the past four years. Even through injuries, he was always at practice and supported his team mates during games. He has also participated in Track and Field during his high school career. I have no doubt he will continue this leadership role on the team his senior year as well. Oscar has outstanding leadership skills. He has put those skills to use by volunteering at the Center Parks and Recreation department by helping with both coaching and referring football games. In working with these younger children, he displays his willingness to give back to the community and share what he has learned in his life. What a remarkable role model for our youth. Oscar is currently a senior at Center High School in Center, Colorado. Oscar has expressed an interest in earning a bachelor’s degree in athletic training. He is continuously involved in extracurricular activities to include volunteering opportunities with Center Parks and Recreations by helping with year round peewee sports in coaching and referring.
