Parents and guardians,

My name is Melitza Rodriguez and I am very excited to be your childs

student teacher! This school year will be filled with many fun activities
and lots of learning. I cannot wait to see the students light up when
they learn a new topic, and to help them in any way possible. I want to
know all about you and your child but first ill start by telling you a few
things about myself.
I was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts and moved to Chicago when I was
six years old. I come from a Puerto Rican family and I am very proud of
that. I am bilingual as I speak both English and Spanish. I hope that this
skill I have will help reach out to students that may struggle learning
English. I graduated in 2014 from Glenbard West high school and
continued my education at College of Dupage. My major is early childhood
education because teaching kids is my passion.
I am so happy to be part of Mrs. Vasquezs first grade class!
