Land of Song. From Celtic folk music to male vocal choirs such as the
famous Morriston Orpheus Choir and Theorch Male Voice Choir in the
past to modern groups like

Traditional Festivals

As well as celebrating many of the traditional religious festivals of Great

Britain, such as Easter and Christmas, Wales has its own unique celebratory
days. An early festivity was Mabsant, when local parishes would celebrate the
patron saint of their local church. This celebration died out in the 19th
century, to be replaced by Saint David's Day, which is celebrated on 1 March.

Calan Gaeaf, associated with the supernatural and the dead, is

observed on 1 November (All Saints Day). It has largely been replaced
by Halloween.
